Ready or not the big appliance makers, TV makers and computer makers are trying to make their products smarter. In an emergency, tweet or text message your appliances and they will tell you when your roast is ready or whether your clothes are dry or whether your Netflix download is in your queue.

LG’s Wi-Fi connected appliances have made their debut along with their new Optimus Smart Phone with dual core processor.

Asus, Sharp and everybody in between showed off a tablet to the point that if these really do sell, you’ll be able to get one for under $200 while the iPad retails for over $400. Sharp has also unveiled its 70 inch Aquos Quattron TV.

DTS, the venerable audio company that has been competing against Dolby, may finally win out over its rivals by introducing multi channel audio in inexpensive devices along with its well established with many of the stereo and TV makers.

Monster Cable, a company that has become a leader in revamping the headphone market, introduced some of the worlds smallest in-ear phones while at the same time bowing to retail pressure by introducing HDMI cables for under $50. Using RF Technology, Monster Cable has also introduced the world’s fastest Active sync shutter glasses that will be compatible with any and all 3D TVs.

Verizon is showing its 4G wireless products including its portable 4G wireless hub and myriad tablets and mobile phones which will be released in the next 60 days, but it seems to be competition here with Verizon Communications which is trying to steal the show with its hardwired and wireless FIOS connected home. The FIOS connected home — available in about 20 states now — is the forerunner to where the giant service provider wants to rule the air and rule the home. Verizon’s 4G division is joining forces with Panasonic to produce a portable Hi definition visual communication system, dubbed mobile HDVC, that will be used to deliver a slew of medical, business and consumer applications in super speed and super hyper resolution.

Panasonic, trying to regain its position over market leader Vizio, showed off its full HD Viera Plasma, which had already been best in show 2011 convention.

Samsung introduced a new Plasma line led by the D6500 which adds an extra inch of space to its thin bezel design, allowing for wider, yet sleeker viewing angles.

Sony, trying to redefine itself while claiming to redefine TV in 2011 reiterated its commitment to internet TV. It will launch 27 connected TVs along with support for its Google TV lineup, finally combining its enormous theatrical TV video game content into all of its products from 3D camcorders to 3D TVs to 3D video gaming and 3D laptops.  Its CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, is betting the ranch on 3D, However while lagging behind industry leader Visio, Sony promises that it will be number one again.
