BENQ W7000 HD CINEMA PROJECTION SYSTEM

By Erick Royer

Do you love going to the movies? Especially the higher-end cinemas with full HD quality video and hi-def sound?  I think there is no better way to enjoy a movie than on the big screen.  Oftentimes I will watch one of those “extreme home” shows on TV and they feature a home with a movie theatre in it and I think, “Wow!  How awesome would that be?” I assumed that a projection system for a room like that would cost $5000 or more.  Then I got my hands on the new Benq W7000 projector and I discovered that all I needed was a large white wall to create that same high-quality theatre experience in my own home.  I am not kidding; we are talking full HD and up to a 300-inch screen!  The W7000 is even fully 3D-capable so not only can I enjoy movies with my family in our own “home theatre” but it feels like we are part of the movie – it is that realistic!

The Benq W7000 was designed to bring professional-grade video quality to your home entertainment system.  It includes full 3D support in 1080P HD resolution.  The system works well in just about any room with a 2000 ANSI lumen high brightness, 50,000:1 high-contrast ratio.  This means that even in rooms with moderate light, the picture quality will be crisp and bright.

3D IN FULL HD ANYONE?

The W7000 is the first projector in the world to have the TUV Rheinland 3D Full HD Certification. Basically what this means is that the W7000 will give you the best possible HD 3D experience in your home, period! The projector is powered by a DLP Link to deliver smooth 1080P HD images to both eyes that is crosstalk free.  As compared to other 3D TVs on the market where you use cheap 3D glasses like you get at the movies, the Benq 3D glasses make the experience so lifelike and enjoyable, that it is like you have become part of the movie. The W7000 uses the latest HDMI standard ensuring the best 3D video quality from any HDMI enabled device, including Blu-ray DVD players, cable or satellite and 3D video games on the PS3 directly without any additional setup.

I often wondered how practical it would be to have a 3D-capable TV in my home.  How much would I use it and what kind of programming is available?  The answer is that every day more and more programming is available in 3D, including sporting events, video games and movies that you can stream in HD from the internet and satellite. The W7000 is impressive enough watching regular HD TV programming, but when you have a chance to watch a 3D program, you will be blown away!

SUBURB VIDEO QUALITY – BAR NONE!

The W7000 features a full HD optimized optical system that ensures the best clarity and sharpness in every full HD program. This system is the only projector with a lens system with glass lens elements which makes it outperform other units on the market with more image details and brighter picture quality.  The ultra-high 50000:1 contrast ratio offers the highest image definition even on the darkest scenes. The 2,000 lumen projection system will counter just about any ambient room lighting to produce a bright and clear picture. The W7000 was designed to match the Rec. 709 color gamut which is the highest video definition standard for professional-grade home projectors. Because of this, the W7000 will deliver colors so real that it reflects what the human eye perceives.

The W7000 features fully-adjustable color management with the ability to fine-tune hues, contrast, brightness, color temperature, gamma and white balance to give you the optimum viewing experience.  The independent 3D color control allows you to fine-tune the gain, saturation and hue of the six primary colors individually to give you the absolute best 3D experience.

W7000 CONNECTIVITY

As with most home theatre projectors on the market today, the W7000 features a pair of HDMI  1.4a inputs for Blu-ray 3D compatibility. There are basic inputs with composite and s-video. There is also USB port for service, a RS232 port for computer command and control and a 3D feature port for an external 3D emitter.  There is a composite video input with three color-coded RCA jacks and, finally, an HS15 connector for analog PC sources or second component video. A power receptacle, rear IR sensor and a Kensington lock are all found as well.

THE BOTTOM LINE

When you are in the market for the ultimate home entertainment video projection system, there is no need to look any further than the Benq W7000.   This system has all the bells and whistles to make your home entertainment system explode with excitement. The picture quality and brightness rivals even the best of LCD, LED and plasma televisions.  With a projection size range from 28-inches to 300-inches, the W7000 can turn any room in your home into a cinema-theatre experience.  If the HD quality for all basic programming alone is not enough, pop in a 3D movie or video game on your PS3 and prepare to be blown away.  With an average price of around $1999.00, the W7000 rivals many higher-end 50 to 60-inch LCD televisions, but you get so much more.  This is, hands-down, the best home entertainment video system that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying.
